5 Best Places to Visit in Rathlin Island

Rathlin Island is the only known inhabited offshore Island of the Northern Island, it is a very interesting Island with various tourist attractions, and here is a list of some of the best places to visit while in this Island.

Kinbane Castle –It is situated In Antrim County in Northern Ireland. This two storey castle was built in the year 1547 by a man known as Colla MacDonnell, it probably constructed out of wood, with large courtyard and traces of other buildings. This place is a perfect place for a picnic because of it amusing scenery of waterfall features and the ocean.

 

Soerneog View – Bike Rentals, this is a very nice way to see the entire Island, you can hire bikes for the day at a fee, their bikes are known to be in a good condition and have very comfortable saddles, cycling through the island have proven to be enjoyable.

 

Ballintoy Harbour – For those tourists that are looking to experience a true sense of Irish rural life, it is advisable to stop over while touring the coastal route. This place has also been used as a filming location for certain series. It really doesn’t matter whether one is a Game of Thrones fan or not, this pretty harbor with the coastline is worth giving a visit. The road leading to the harbor is steep and narrow and also has a small car park, a toilet, and a small café.

 

Ballycastle Beach – this place is where one can take a lovely walk along the beach and have a great view at the coastline it is beautiful, clean and quiet beach with no litters around, the place can be unusually warm and suitable for kids to play and enjoy themselves. Another good thing about this place is that it is less populated.
